Seen in Lady Violet's dower house on Downton Abbey, a statue of Giambologna's Flying Mercury, the Greek messenger of the gods.. Mercury is depicted wearing a winged petasus on his head and winged sandals which give him speed in flight. He carries the caduceus in his hand, a wand given to him by Apollo.
Lady Violet Dowager Countess of Grantham played by Dame Maggie Smith, sits by her Victorian Papier Mache Table on the set of Downton Abbey. Antique tilt-top papier mache tables with mother of pearl inlay are collectors items and make for an interesting conversation piece in your drawing room. The Cumbria Crystal Grasmere range was used on the famous Downton Abbey dining table.
The Cumbria Crystal Company was founded in 1976 by Lord & Lady Cavendish. The House of Cavendish is a famous British Noble House. The Grasmere – (Downton Abbey collection) was actually designed by Lady Cavendish.

Mr Decanter uses a decanting cradle to decant the claret into a classic lead crystal cut glass claret jug by Cumbria Crystal. The Cumbria Crystal Grasmere stemware was also seen on the dining table on Downton Abbey.
Coffe is served in the Downton Abbey drawing room in a stylish Coffee set of English bone china by Royal Doulton called English Renaissance. Lady Cora Crawley, Duchess of Grantham on Downton Abbey, has fine china pieces on her breakfast tray. The design is Herend Chinese Boquet in the Rust colorway. We see her most notably using it from the Season 1 Episode One of Downton Abbey when she gets the news of the Titanic disaster, and again later in the series when Baxter brings her a much appreciated glass of orange juice to win her favor.
The mixer Daisy uses on Downton Abbey is a 1918 Universal Electric Food Mixer from Landers, Frary & Clark. According to the Downton Abbey Production Designer, Donal Woods, it was purchased from a eBay seller in California.
Lady Violet played by Dame Maggie Smith presents flowers from Lord Merton to Mrs Crawley in a Chinese Bowl. A closer look at the pattern on the bowl indicates a Chinese rose medallion Canton style pattern. Chinese decorative plates in a simlar pattern were used as set dressing in various locations on the Downton Abbey sets.

Lady Violet, Dowager countess of Grantham played by Dame Maggie Smith serves tea from her Sheffield silver tea service. Her silver tea set with silver tea kettle is an antique Victorian silver tea service similar to those made by Martin & Hall, or Robert Harper of Sheffield.
